Reporting to the Manager Urban Services & Facilities, you'll oversee the operation of 6 outdoor swimming pools across the Shire, ensuring facilities remain safe, welcoming, compliant, and ready to serve the community.
This is a unique leadership opportunity that combines aquatic operations, people leadership, facility management, customer service, and community engagement. You'll have the autonomy to coordinate operations across multiple sites while playing an important role in shaping positive experiences for pool users throughout the region.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting WHS, risk management, and public safety outcomes
Building positive relationships across Council teams, contractors, hirers, and the broader community
Please Note that pool season generally operates between October and April and may require flexibility to respond to operational matters outside standard business hours. This role also includes health monitoring and vaccination requirements associated with aquatic facility operations.
We're looking for a confident and community-minded leader who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and creating positive outcomes for both staff and the community.
You will ideally bring hands-on experience operating, maintaining, or supervising aquatic facilities, together with the leadership skills required to support teams across multiple locations.
To be successful in this role, you will need:

Strong understanding of workplace health and safety responsibilities
Additionally, the following skills and experience will be highly regarded:

Workforce planning, rostering, and scheduling experience
Experience leading casual or seasonal workforces
Facilities maintenance or asset management experience
Local government or community facility experience
As our ideal candidate, you'll be an approachable and resilient leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with staff, community members, and stakeholders.
As one of Council's most visible community services, you'll be comfortable engaging professionally with residents, pool users, councillors, and community stakeholders while representing Council positively at all times.
