Larvotto Resources (LVR) is developing the Hillgrove Antimony and Gold Project in Armidale, NSW. This project offers a unique opportunity to work within the mining industry in the vibrant regional town of Armidale, renowned for its quality of life, educational institutions, and beautiful surroundings. Centrally located between Brisbane and Sydney, Armidale is just a short drive to the popular Coffs Coast.
The Role
As an Underground Charge Up Operator reporting to the UG Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for safely preparing, charging and firing underground development and production blasts within Hillgrove’s mining operations. The role requires strict compliance with NSW explosives legislation, site procedures, and geotechnical controls.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring development advance, stope production cycles, and the safe operation of the mine by delivering high-quality charge-up work, managing explosives responsibly, and maintaining disciplined hazard control in all underground environments.
This is a Permanent role on a residential basis with relocation provided if required.
Roster is 7on / 7off, rotating day and night shifts.
Qualifications and Experience
Blasting Explosives User License and Unsupervised Handling License under the NSW Explosives Act (essential)
NSW Explosives Security Clearance (ESC)
NSW BEUL shotfirer Licence (Underground Metalliferous)
RII competencies relevant to Charge-up
RIIWHS202E – Enter and Work in Confined Space
RIIWHS204E – Work Safely at Heights
Demonstrates knowledge of statutory and safe work procedures for the handling, storage and management of explosives.
Strong understanding of blasting principles, explosives chemistry, timing systems and fragmentation standards.
Experience working with electronic detonators
Knowledge of ground support, hazard identification, scaling and stope readiness.
Demonstrated ability to work safely with high-risk materials under strict procedural conditions
Strong communication skills and reliability in high-pressure operational environments.
Other Requirements:
Current Australian Manual Driver's License
Unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
Must be able to provide a valid National Police Clearance, obtained within the last six months upon request.
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, and comply with ongoing testing during employment.
