About the role
Armidale Building Supplies is seeking a dynamic and experienced Warehouse Manager to join our team in Armidale, NSW. This is a full-time position offering a strategic leadership opportunity within our warehousing and distribution operations. As Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our warehouse facility, ensuring efficient stock management, optimal logistics operations, and the safety and productivity of your team. This role is fundamental to maintaining our supply chain excellence and supporting the continued growth of Armidale Building Supplies.
Key responsibilities
Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory management, and dispatch of products
Manage and supervise warehouse staff, including performance management and scheduling
Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock audits to ensure stock levels are optimal and data is reliable
Implement and maintain warehouse safety procedures
Optimise warehouse layout and storage systems to improve efficiency and maximise space utilisation
Monitor warehouse performance metrics such as accuracy, productivity and reporting to senior management
Manage warehouse equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs to minimise downtime
Develop and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs
Liaise with sales to ensure smooth coordination of warehouse activities
Prepare reports on warehouse operations and staff performance
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar senior warehouse operations role, ideally within the manufacturing, distribution or building supplies sector
Strong leadership and people management skills with experience in staff training, development and performance management
Knowledge of warehouse management systems
Sound understanding of health and safety legislation, particularly relevant to warehouse and logistics operations
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
Computer skills and ability to learn our POS system
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team
Physical capability to conduct regular warehouse inspections and demonstrations where necessary
Valid driver's licence and forklift licence
Relevant qualifications or certifications in warehouse management, logistics are advantageous
