We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented WHS Assistant to support the implementation and maintenance of workplace health and safety systems across our state of the art new site operation.

In this role, you will work closely with the WHS Coordinator and site leadership team to ensure compliance with the BSafe WHS Management System, as well as Australian WHS legislation, standards, and codes of practice.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop or start your WHS career within a leading Australian Poultry Industry.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and implementing WHS policies, procedures, and systems (BSafe)

  • Support site compliance

  • Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments

  • Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions

  • Support WHS audits and ensure timely completion of actions

  • Liaise with site teams, contractors, and stakeholders on WHS matters

  • Assist with WHS training, inductions, and safety initiatives

  • Prepare and maintain WHS reports and documentation

  • Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across the site

Required Skills & Experience

  • Qualification in WHS or related field (or working towards)

  • Previous experience in a similar role or transferable skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Good computer skills (e.g. Excel, reporting systems)

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines

  • Current driver’s licence and full working rights in Australia
